Mark Cantu is an award-winning film director, actor and screenwriter. In 2003, Mark founded Live Wire Films, Ltd., a small independent film production company based solely in San Antonio. Under the Live Wire name, he has collaborated with some of San Antonio's finest filmmakers. His credits include the suspense thriller ECHO, which has been signed for worldwide distribution by York Entertainment; the film was also nominated at the Horrific Film Festival for Best Actor, Best Feature and won for Best Special F/X. He has also served as film editor for several 48 Hour Film projects for director Michael Cantu, including BACKUP and NHI. His next project, the superhero comedy NOW HIRING, recently premiered at the Alamo Drafthouse and is currently being submitted to various film festivals internationally. He is currently in production on his second feature film, the action-comedy ARMY OF JUAN. Outside of his own feature film and short film work, Mark is actively involved in the San Antonio Film community. He has served as a panel speaker for the San Antonio Film Forum; served as a production assistant for award-winning filmmaker Ya'Ke Smith; served as music video director under producer Bryan Ramirez, for clients including fashion designer Angelina Mata, world-renowned DJ Tonyc, and local recording artist Nadine Mansour; has also represented Film SA during the 2010 American Advertising Federation Volleyball charity event; and appeared as an actor for fellow San Antonio filmmakers, such as Bryan Ortiz, Wes Barlow and Joey Carrillo. actor,writer,director,film,tx,movies,competition
