Call in to speak with the host
On Friday, December 6th at 6:00 p.m. eastern time, I will have the pleasure of interviewing Kat Brennan and her band she calls, Them Kids. Kat was born in California but raised in Nevada. She transplanted to Ohio in her teens. Kat has an eclectic style, with a lot of different musical influences. She has played everything from metal to jazz. But music fell to the side when she became a married mom. After her recent divorce, she rediscovered everything she loves. She started writing, and began to sing for the first time. She enjoys writing her own music and is performing in small venues where I can still sit down with her fans and have a beer. If you ask her she will tell you that music was always in her, but until the spring of 2012, it wasn’t expressed. With life pressing in, she went back to the root of the mountains where she was born, and began to sing for the first time in her life. Writings poured forth for no one other than herself. But people noticed. In August of 2012 she played her first gig, a show she was invited to play by friends who had heard her private writings. In the month that followed, she was invited to play three more. And so it began. Over the last year she has written over 35 songs, each more powerful and beautiful than the last. And she’s only just begun. You can find out more about Kat and hear her music at www.katbrennan-com.webs.com.
