At 17, Lee-Driver got her cosmetology license. At 19, she opened her first business, a hair salon in Ordinary, Va. At 27, she began teaching cosmetology to others. At 30, she opened her own cosmetology school. Soon, she was ready for a change, and that came in the form of a relocation to Philadelphia. After moving to Philly in 2006, Lee-Driver opened a salon for kids in East Falls. During that time, she was visited by a distributor touting a hair-care product containing Shea butter. The product worked well, but she soon realized it was one she could make herself. That’s when she started doing some research. “If I can bake a cheesecake and a pound cake,” she could do this, and Oria's O'shay was born!
