Join us as we interview Monique Walker,CEO of Media Max Productions and author Norma L. Jarrett. J. Monique Walker is best known for her compelling style, personality and her confidence toward her creative ability as a strategic marketer and television producer. She is the owner and CEO of MEDIA MAX Productions, Inc., a vehicle through which she produces television programming, commercials, documentaries, corporate projects and feature films. Monique’s professional career began at Rust College where in her freshman year she broke a high profile news story that launched her into a four year television anchor position with the schools’ NBC affiliate. She interned at two top 10 television stations in America one of which was Capitol Cities / ABC affiliate KTRK-TV in Houston, Texas. Monique moved to New Orleans 20 years ago and landed a position with Cox Communications. Her director, Ernest Collins recognized her talent and desire to learn the industry and gave her the freedom to explore both on camera and off camera opportunities. Monique was an anchorperson, a news reporter, camera operator and producer during her tenure at Cox. She did voiceover and produced community, medical and news talk shows for Inter-Urban Broadcasting WYLD Radio station and later became a traffic announcer for Metro-Scan Traffic. Norma L. Jarrett wrote the fictional novels Sunday Brunch, Sweet Magnolia (An Essence magazine national book club selection) and The Sunday Brunch Diaries (sequel to Sunday Brunch and Essence Bestseller) all published under Doubleday/Harlem Moon. Her work has gained attention in Ebony, Essence, Southern Living, Upscale, USA Today, Gospel Truth, QBR, Black Expression, Publisher’s Weekly and other publications. Norma has been a featured guest on ABC 13’s Crossroads, Outlook Houston. Ms. Jarrett has done major radio interviews on stations such as The Yolanda Adams Morning at 102 KMJQ, 97.9 The Box, and V103 (Atlanta, GA).
