Yusef Harris Week 25 of Black History year. Given today's economic climate it is fitting to reflect on this place and community where African Americans flourished so well financially that they were considered a powerful African American financial Movement. The people in this Black community held very sound and prosperous financial management and wealth practices that soon gained the attention of the region. It was said that the black dollar circulated 36 to 100 times before leaving this community. When the citizens of this community decided to choos a Black governor from the state of Kansas the Ku Klux Cland threated to kill him within 48 hours. What was this place and where was it located?
