The Universal Power of the Number 7

Jae shares insight into the, The Book of Revelation of Jesus Christ to John; the English title "Revelation" comes from the first word of the book in Greek, (Gr. apokalypsis), which means the "uncovering or unveiling" -  translated literally from Greek, is a disclosure of knowledge, i.e., a lifting of the veil or revelation.

The number 7 is prominent in Revelation:

7 Churches (1:11)

  • Ephesus (Metropolis of Ephesus)
  • Smyrna (Metropolis of Smyrna)
  • Pergamum (Metropolis of Pergamum)
  • Thyatira.
  • Sardis (See of Sardis)
  • Philadelphia (Metropolis of Philadelphia)
  • and Laodicea, near Denizli (see Laodicean Church)

7 Candlesticks (1:13) -Menorah {corresponds to 7 stars/planets below} - Think Bulls Eye or Concentric circles.
7 Stars (1:16) -the ancients called the planets "stars" as follows:

  • Sun
  • Moon
  • Mercury
  • Venus
  • Saturn
  • Mars
  • Jupiter 

7 Letters (2:1-3:22)

*Many interpreters believe that the number seven (7), when given symbolic significance, represents completeness and perfection.
