BREAK YO'SELF, FOOL! That's right, gangsta rap is on the scene... it's the late 80's/early 90's and the days of "party" hip-hop tunes have started to make way for West coast gangsters and East cost (wannabe) mafiosos. Did it help or hinder the genre? Join in the discussion with guest host and blogger Bossmack TopSoil (www.TopMackNigga.Blogspot.com) Tune in tonight- you know you want to!

I remember exactly where I was when I read that Dominican author Junot Diaz, whose collection of short stories garnered my complete admiration for his storytelling style, won the Pulitzer Prize in Literature for The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao.
His novel was truly one of the most captivating novels I've read to date- with its crazy footnotes and familiar characters- and this segment of Monday Musings finds myself and my compadre, Dan Tres Omi, discussing Diaz's literary contributions, the novel, and the rumored upcoming film.
So read up and tune in- you know you want to!

An entire month devoted to the AWESOMENESS that is the female gender. So of course you know I had to do a show about it! Tonight on Monday Musings I am devoting an entire hour to the trailblazing women who've come before me, the ones who are making a difference today, and the ones that I know are poised to make difference tomorrow. Who are some of the women who've influenced your life? Made you want to be better? Do better? My co-host tonight is Dorian Smith, social networking and marketing guru of BigAppleStyle.com, a lifestyle ezine aimed at Generation Y, a woman who's making her own way in this testosterone world. So tune in... you know you want to!

I first spoke with Michael Tate of the band 3D Ritmo De Vida back in 2007 to discuss his brand of Salsa for the masses (read the article here: http://www.latinpulsemusic.com/articles/show/31). Now they've dropped a new CD, Que Siga La Rumba, and I've invited Michael to Monday Musings to talk about his creative process, the band, the industry and life as a musician in the NYC area. Tune in... you know you want to!
