Shawn Brown (The Rappin Duke) Bio: Shawn Brown is originally from Chicago, Illinois where he developed a strong interest in theater and music as a child.  He developed a wide range of talent and not only is he a sought after motivational speaker, he is also quite proficient as an actor, comedian, musician and educator. After completing high school, Shawn joined the US Air Force.  Along with his military duties, he entertained the troops as a featured performer in numerous Air Force showcases and military talent shows throughout the United States and Europe. In his pursuit to become a consummate entertainer, Shawn moved to Hollywood California.  There he worked as a standup comic at various popular clubs and developed a strong following.   Shawn's unique act combined original music, rap and impersonations to elicit laughs.   In fact, it was a comical parity and tribute to the late great John "The Duke" Wayne (rapping) that landed Shawn a recording contract in 1985. Shawn achieved commercial success with his recording of  "The Rappin Duke" which he wrote and produced.  The record was played all over the country in both urban and country radio formats.  As a result of the urban success of the record, Shawn toured as the opening act for several popular groups including  New Edition and Stevie Wonder.
