Photobucket Tiko is a writer, musician, performance artist, author, activist, poet and priest of Oshun. In 1999 he was the lead vocalist for "Ancestry of Sound". He has played, opened for and worked with many artists including Ozomatli, Medusa,Quetzal, Bilal, Zap Mama and many more. Tiko is a practitioner of Vodou and was interviewed for the ABC News Nightline special Fete Gede before the devastating earthquake in Haiti. He is the author of the book "Omphalos: the nourishing nature of Odu" about everything in material manifestation and where in Odu it is born and is currently in the movie "To Dream in Spanish" which discusses culture, race, religion and immigration. He is also the author of several essays including "Merin Laye: The Orishas speak from the four corners of the earth" ,"Saving Osain: a conservationist approach to Orisha worship" and "The four colors of Osun". He is an advocate for the LGBT community in the diaspora. Tiko participated in the historic signing of the accord to preserve lukumi tradition with Oba Ernesto Pichard, Willie Ramos and many other priests.
