This installment of The Forbidden Fruit was inspired by our last show. One caller believed that through his spirituality and tapping into his inner connection with his higher power or God, he was able to avoid immediate danger from an approaching tornado. This belief system isn't exclusive to this caller. Many believers in religion feel that they have special advantages and God's Favor over non believers. This is what we want to focus on during this installment. Is there any proof to this belief? Can anyone prove that being religious and believing in an invisible man in the sky afford you real tangible advantages? Is this just a form of arrogance? Why would you think your God would bless you with a new house, or a new car, and even a prime parking space at the mall to park that new car in, while the basic necessities of life are being withheld from the least of these? Why do you claim to be special? Why would you want to serve a God or a higher force that would care more about the outcome of a boxing match than a starving baby somewhere in the world?

Let's talk about it here on The Fruit!
