The Final Word Podcast LGBTQ Series Breaking Ground on Faith

Since July generally hosts LBGTQ Pride events through the country, The Final Word Podcast will be addressing pivotal issues and moments throughout our history.

 

After the Stonewall riots, clergy from faith communities began to educate their congregations on the importance of being inclusive and welcoming to all people, include LGBT members. Faith organizations began to outreach to the broader community, especially after the highly stigmatized outbreak of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The founding of sub-grouped faith organizations for Muslims, Jews, Baptists and so many others began to take root and grow, forcing larger religious institutions to examine their theological teaching and become more publicly inclusive to LGBT people of faith.

 

We will be welcoming special guests: Fr. Paul Breton from Southern California, ally and youth minister, Ed Noriega and Daniel Barutta, the current chapter President of Dignity Washington.
