LORENZO CAPONETTI, is a farmer and Casa Caponetti, located in Tuscania, Italy, is his farm.  

Passionate about sustainability and arid countries, he applies many of the skills and the solutions he witnessed during his travels throughout the Mediterranean, the Middle East and Central Asia while studying Architecture, Forestry Science and Rural Planning at university.

He speaks annually at the Culinary Institute of America, and the International Culinary Art and Science Institute. His lectures range from the nutritional, cultural and environmental values of Extra-Virgin Olive Oil, to the ecology of farming and the importance of organic farming in contrasting desertification and the effects of climate change. 

His Extra-Virgin Olive Oil is well-renowned around the world and his comparative research on Etruscan hydraulic engineering took him to hold seminars at various universities and institutions, including the United Nation University in Hamilton, Ontario.

On the farm he keeps busy with the production of olive oil; with vegetables and canned food; raising horses, cows and pigs; and with tourism, education, and non profit activities. Since July 31st, 2008 he is the father of a baby girl named Matilde.
