Melissa’s personal passion is animal rescue and well-being.  The goal of her book to assist the amazing individuals and families who have decided to adopt a dog who may have suffered abuse in the past and do their best to give the dog a new life filled with love and happiness.  Unfortunately, sometimes the good samaritan encounters unexpected struggles they did not anticipate when they first met the dog.  If this sounds like you, you are not alone.  Melissa’s book helps rescuers to understand how dogs with abusive past will often communicate.  Reminding adoptive parent’s new situations can be stressful to the dog.  This book is to encourage dog adopters never to give up on creating a strong bond with your dog.  Melissa knows first-hand that with patience and respect the most loving relationship between your dog and family can happen.

Professionally, Melissa has earned a Doctorates Business Administration (DBA), she works as a college professor and cultural scientist.
