    Maybe the problem lies within...

When this topic that NeXplicableP and I are going to discuss tonight came to mind, I couldn’t wait to get started on it. This topic is as broad as most of our topics are, but this one has a special place in my heart. I think it’s so dear because of my line of work, as far as motivating girls and women to be all that they can be without the assistance of anyone. I teach them that true beauty isn’t found only in a foundation bottle. It’s not found with the stroke of a blush brush, but from the heart comes that natural glow. It’s that glow that reaches the hearts of others without saying a word. It’s that glow of confidence that no matter how hard the wind blow, it can’t blow out your flame.

Oftentimes we look to blame everything and everyone why things are the way they are. Why Black men are choosing White women. In actuality of it all, it is simply our own fault in many cases.  Now, let me say this, you can’t help it when people CHOOSE or seek after someone for their own insecurities, their closed minds or their false motives.  Let’s take a closer look at ourselves before we blame our men, our jobs, other races, or any circumstance that we come up with to charge for our shortcomings.  As I always say, take out your mirror – not your vanity mirror, but your mirror of authenticity and just stare at yourself.  Give yourself that check-up and diagnose your symptoms. You might find out that you have something you can write your own prescription for – LOVE for others, unity and self-love.  Stop looking at everyone else until YOU start lifting up your own. When you love yourself, you receive love. Do you really love yourself? Do you treat your fellow sister the way you want to be treated? Do you see yourself in her; and is that why you don’t like her?  You see the jealousy, the “I can do that”, she thinks she’s cute….all of that. (All of those middle school issues).  Guess what?  That man sees that intimidation factor and the lack of confidence in you.

Well, this is just a tip of where we’re headed tonight on Sister to Sister with NeXplicableP and Curvy Cowgirl.  We’re going to take our topic, “Are Black Women Still Desirable” by storm.  It’s not a Black or White thing, it's a US thing.
