  Are black women still desirable? According to some of the professional athletes and the average Black man, we sometimes can’t tell. Is it a trend to date/marry women of the other persuasion? Is it for status or power? Is it a rebellion for what was forbidden many years ago with our ancestors? We’ll also explore the other side – why SOME men other than Black men are afraid to date Black women. Is it out of fear of how their families will react? Is it not accepted in their environment or is it simply against their upbringing? We want to know what you think about this one.   Discussing adults coping with disabilities or parenting special needs children

  How does it make you feel when you hear someone say, don’t have a seizure or don’t have a heart attack! How about this: He is so retarded! Oh here’s one: Girl, you know she rides the short bus! The latest one I heard was, “He’s a helmet- wearing-window licker!” I know we are all guilty at one time or another about laughing at a joke or two but let’s sit back and talk about this subject. Have you ever thought about the parents or siblings of those retarded children? What if you had to walk your child to that short bus in the mornings or have to meet that short bus after school? I know that most of us don’t mean any harm, but when it’s your loved one it might not be so funny.

  Author Cynthia Banks will join The Chicks Corner

  Join us Friday, December 4, 2009 as we speak with CYNTHIA BANKS, Author of Drunk for 27 Years which is about Priscilla Murray-Gibson (the mother of a well-known actor), Prayers of the Innocent and soon to be released book, Broken Trust. Cynthia is a business owner, a part of the Stop Six Aids Leadership Project. S.S.A.L.P. was conceived out of the concern for the growing number of AIDS/HIV infected African Americans in the community. Cynthia hosts and participates in events and HIV/AIDS testing sites throughout Texas to encourage the public to “Know Your Status”. She has been interviewed on several television networks and has held book signings in several cities, including New York. Tune in to hear all about her books and the true servant that she is.
