My name is Karen Dewitt, and I wrote a book called EYES BEHIND THE CLOUDS, and I wrote it to show people, that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I know first hand what it is like to be without, nothing but the clothes on your back. I know how it feels to be separated from your family, and have no means of getting to them. In Jan2007, a year I will never be able to erase from my soul, a year that made me a basket-case, that stripped me of all human emotion, that took me on a journey... that proved my strength, and faith.
I published the story, of my daughters, and I--- on July 2007- exactly, six-months after the fact. I received an Editors Choice Award for this book, and was tagged “DepthWriter” by higher elites in Oklahoma.  I receive no royalties on this book, all royalties is forwarded to an organization in Olympia, Washington... that took to us, paying special attention to my daughters. You have to remember it was January in Washington, cold and rainy, with a light drizzle of snow that year. I wouldn't wish this kind of ordeal on no one; my daughters feet were cold- so I gave her my socks, walking with shoes, with no socks. My oldest daughter was cold, only having a light jacket on the night this all began... I gave her my jacket, and took her rain wind breaker instead. When, we finally made it to Florida, with my sister... I had double pnemonia, breathing problems, lost 82 lbs...
Today, I am the CEO of a magazine called EMOSHUN N JACKSONVILLE, write in several writing communities, and am currently, getting ready to publish my 16th book, all poetry! A true passion for me...
