When we think of 'Who' we know that could help us, our attention is often turned to someone in power, a celebrity, a VIP in society. What we are ignoring in this thought process are all the people we keep around us. Our family, friends, coworkers, team members, mentors, coaches, leaders... anyone we are trying to emulate in life. Stop looking for the one person who could really make a difference for you, and realize how much difference the people are making who you spend all of your life with.
So why are your close acquaintances important? Think about it. Are you going to become a great golfer if you hang around with people who are not better than you? No. Will you maintain a positive focus in life by associating with people who constantly complain and feel victimized by society? No. Can you feel good having people around you who make fun of you or mock you for who you are? No.
Choose your circle of influence carefully, because this discussion has nothing to do with surrounding yourself with 'Yes Men.' It has everything to do with surrounding yourself with people who will challenge you to become a better version of yourself, and then having the right attitude so they continue helping you accomplish anything you want to in life.
