The Breastfeeding Salon  

The Breastfeeding Salon is the home of a Conscious Breastfeeding Movement developed over the past 22 years by Máire Clements, RN, IBCLC in her NYC Lactation Consulting practice. Máire welcomes her co-hosts Tracy Gary, from Intuition-Nutrition.com, a charter member of The Breastfeeding Salon and holistic nutrition consultant, and Deirdre Morris, from MagicalBeginningsforBaby.com, a pychologist and spiritual life coach whose practice focuses upon helping moms and their families to have an inspired life passage from conception through parenthood. Together their passion, energy and experience has created a powerful and nurturing space where modern moms can come to optimize and enjoy their Breastfeeding experiences and journey into motherhood.

    Conscious Breastfeeding Moms Take Action on Melamine Issue

    Today's show featured Melamine in Formula and in the food supply. TalkScoop joined us for the hour and shared his research on this troubling topic.

    Conscious Breastfeeding moms must take action on this issue.  Discuss this with family, friends and your health care providers. Let President Obama know how you feel by filling out the     petition requesting policies that truly support breastfeeding.  In addition, leave your comments about the need to ensure the safety of our food supply.  

    In the spirit of change that has been promised, the new administration must make the FDA a real advocate for public health.  We must insist that there be zero tolerance for the presence of Melamine and other contaminants in formula.  We should be able to trace the origin of all the ingredients used in food products that reach our tables.  Made in America does not tell the whole story.

    We will revisit this topic often because the politicians only act when there is a buzz that is audible. We will be a power to be reckoned with when we raise our voices and speak with our wallets!
