The Buzz... I wanna talk about how word play is becoming such an integral part of American society. Sara Palin used the word "refudiate".. a word that may exist in the urban dictionary but did not exist in a standard English dictionary prior. Folks use words like Geo and Neo to describe new, why not just use the word new? Why are we constantly trying to shed traditional language or meaning.. Why are we distancing ourselves from what’s broken instead of fixing it? What about folks who think “haters” means something other than what the dictionary states and or try to reinterpret many words to have a different meaning than intended... Is that what's wrong with society? The Sting... I wonder how many stand with me on using literal meanings of words.. Is that the way to steer ourselves back into commonalities? Is it possible to gain ground in the quest of repairing human relationships and interactions that are damaged by texting and email if we aren’t speaking the same language or understanding what is meant The Healing... Are we too far from each other to heal, repair bridges, bridge gaps? I’m concerned about the kids and what they are seeing and learning. Based on what we tolerate that our parents did not as far as language is concerned, we are failing.
