When we first moved in with mom, feeding her was a fairly easy task. As the months progressed, small changes were needed in what she was fed. The changes accelerated as the dementia worsened. Now, she is able to consume very little. Today's readings/discussion, will touch on these transitions that I have gone through with mom in feeding her. Update as of 8-12-10, mom stopped eating last week on 8-6-10. I will be adding a final chapter to this message on nourishment, detailing what this week has been like for me, in not being able to feed her.
