Modesto officials will consider Monday a new approach for investing in the city’s neighborhoods that calls for the city to give $900,000 over four years to a nonprofit that would use the money to teach residents how to organize and solve their problems while working with the city.

Modesto Neighborhoods Incorporated was formed on September 13, 2011 by Michael Joseph Moradian, organizer of the famous La Loma Neighborhood Association.
The city of "greater neighborhoods"has more to do with politiccal organization rather than public safety.
Mindful of organizations like ACORN in large cities such as Chicago.
Hawn said, "If we didn't have the budget issues we would not be talking about this. The city would be providinng the services."
The city will have trouble providing services if they give Modesto Neighborhoods Incorporated $900,000.
