  • Councilwoman Jennifer Kenoyer who replaced Councilman Tony Madrigal for the Monday meeting of the finance committee has been enlisted to lead the fight for a golf course sale.
  • “The meeting featured some verbal sparring between Marsh and former Mayor Carmen Sabatino, who is one of four candidates challenging Marsh in the November election.

  • Sabatino said that in previous years, when the golf courses’ finances were in better shape, the city used some of that revenue to trim trees throughout the city. Marsh said that was absolutely false, and Sabatino accused Marsh of calling him a liar. Marsh said he would take his statement back if Sabatino could produce a budget document to substantiate his claim.”

  • Earlier in the meeting Marsh admitted that records didn’t exist. It would be up to Marsh to produce records of how the city spent golf course income.

  • Marsh could explain that FM golf left the management of the golf courses owing the city $340,000.

  • They were not going to do anything about the situation thinking FM golf didn’t have the money.

  • The city attorney advised that someday she might have the money. The city and their attorney were correct, FM golf went bankrupt.
