THE PADDLERS Our crew will be recruited to include Canadians and Americans, First Nations people, environmentalists, corporate leaders, politicians and students...All contributing in their own way to the expedition mission. Some of us will be paddling the entire route. Some expedition members will be joining us for 1-2 weeks.

THE CANOE A gorgeous Canot du Maitre (36 foot voyageur canoe) with thanks to Alistair.Room for steady crew of 10 paddlers - keeping a few 'spare seats' for guest paddlers along the way! THIS WILL BE A CHALLENGING TRIP! We will be paddling 50+ Kilometers most days. We expect it will take us 5 weeks to get to Washington DC. Our team members will need to be prepared to paddle long and far in fair and foul weather.

We will be camping along the way at designated camp sites. All team members assist with meal preparation, campsite organization, packing and of course the portages...all with a great sense of humour and generosity of spirit. We will be paddling in fair and foul weather - but not in thunderstorms and hurricanes. This all means that we will create a team of paddlers - willing to paddle long, hard in good and bad weather, camp 'rough', carry our share of the load and find the depth of our generosity. We'll need to be congenial, smile through adversity, pull when the going gets tough!

The organizing team:
- Max Finkelstein - from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Author - "Canoeing a Continent"
- Canoeist and Long distance Paddler Clive Doucet - from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (Clive will learn how to paddle on this trip!)
- Long distance rower Dot Bonnenfant - from Chelsea, Québec Canada. Artist, Canoeist Long distance paddler Flat water and White Water Canoe Instructor
