In the seventies Gene Roddenberry unsuccessfully tried to capture TV success after Star Trek with a new made for TV post-apocalyptic series. Roddenberry delved into post-apocalyptic science fiction with three made for TV movies Genesis II, Planet Earth, and Strange New World. Unfortunately they weren't made into a TV series but they give us a glimpse of the post-apocalyptic genre in the early and mid seventies. So, get to your fallout shelter and tune in to these important messages.

The movie that started it all for me. No it wasn't an academy winner but it is fun to watch. I'll discuss the movie version and the book by the same name.
