Join hosts Tom Riddell and Robin Eduardo as they welcome author Max E. Stone to The Writers Lounge. Sit back and relax as Max discusses what it's like to be a writer and she will also talk to us about her book: August To Life

Around, Around, and Around they go. Where the blood stops. Who knows?

Jonathan and Lee Ann are two high school classmates who have their differences. Jonathan is white and Lee Ann is black. After Jonathan bumps into Lee Ann in the hallway, sending her books to the ground, he calls her a “black bitch” and the relationship heads off on a very rough and contentious path.

The bigotry consumes not only Jonathan but his father as well and the two families of both Jonathan and Lee Ann become embroiled in a racially charged feud that threatens to become worse. All of the dynamics of the story begin to change when Lee Ann finds Jonathan badly hurt and near death from a car accident. She is largely responsible for saving Jonathan’s life but the suspicion of bigotry still hovers over Jonathan, even as he tries to extricate himself from the racial hatred that he learned from his father.
