The Religion of Ancient Israel and the Hebrew Prophets

In today's broadcast Bishop Peter discusses the origin and development of the religion of ancient Israel. We will be examining the process of the movement from the almost universal polytheism of the ancient world to the Ethical Monotheism that was unique to the religion of the Israelites. We will also be exploring the role of the Nebiim, the Hebrew Prophets, in the emergence of the ethical monotheism of ancient Israel as well as the development of the Messianic hope of the biblical writers.
