Seminary Project: A group of seminarians will moderate a conversation on the worldwide web in a reflection tone of Sexuality and the Black Church: A Womanist Perspective written by Kelly Brown Douglas to successfully satisfy requirements for Ministry and Context, a required course offered at The Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA. (This is a co-ed project with both male and female participation: All are welcome to call in live during broadcast.) Format: the first 30 minutes of broadcast will be a conversational dialogue of the theme: The Legacy of White Sexual Assault and the second segment beginning at 2 pm will explore the theme Homophobia and Heterosexism in the Black Church and Community. Telephone lines will be open for your “reflection” keeping in beat with the book’s topics. The focus topics are as follows: More than a Refection of White Culture, The Impact of White Culture upon Black Sexuality, A Sexual Discourse of Resistance, The Mandate for a Sexual Discourse of Resistance, Black Spirituality…The Bible and Homosexuality, Homosexuality and the Well-Being of the Black Community, and Homophobia and a Sexual Discourse of Resistance.
