    This Sunday (the 27th) I have a great show planned. I'll be speaking with Court Appointed Special Advocate and Guardian ad Litem, Jennifer Hawkins, about advocating for abused foster children. Jennifer has some compelling stories to tell about the kinds of problems she sees in foster children, the kinds of abuse they have suffered, and what can be done to help these children.

    Also, if you have an old cell phone that you're not using and you don't want to throw in a landfill, you might consider donating it to www.911cellphonebank.org. These folks are really something! They're affiliated with all kinds of great agencies around the country, including the National Sheriffs' Association, and they put cell phones into the hands of seniors and abuse victims, giving them a lifeline to the outside world when they need help. Lives have been saved and you can be a part of that.

    Busting Stress and Grace Under Pressure

    THIS IS A TEST SHOW, YOU WILL HEAR CONVERSATION AFTER THE SHOW ENDS. Pressure and stress put you in a fight or flight mode and the mind loses the ability to think rationally when in that state. But there are things you can physically and mentally do to get your mind back into rational thinking. Life Coach, Massage Therapist, and teacher, Deborah Smith, will talk about breaking the pattern of stress, its effects on the body and mind, and changing how you react to stress.

    Pressure and stress put you in a fight or flight mode. But there are ways to get your mind back into rational thinking. Deborah Smith will talk about how you can do that so you aren't pushed by your body into a constant pattern of irrational thinking when under stress. She'll also discuss how brain chemistry changes when we're under stress, how we can get back to normal and the things we can do to ensure that this trigger doesn't affect our lives.
