Guest: Linda Putz, Entrepreneur, Career and Job Search Strategist; Talent Management Consultant *The definition of personal branding *The benefits of personal branding *The process of personal branding at the various career and life stages *How personal branding effects life and business effectiveness As an independent consultant and coach, Linda Pütz designs and implements programs for engaging and developing valuable leaders, managers, and employees across the career span. She has provided individual development and communication coaching for hundreds of talented people over the last 25 years as they seek to maximize their job fit by finding and doing their best work. She is a past Manager of Career Development for Martin Marietta, a major aerospace corporation. She has been an external consultant for the last 20 years and won a special award from NASA. At one bureau of the Commerce Department, she built the partnership between managers and employees as part of the Individual Development Planning (IDP) program, linking it to the bureau’s strategic plan and mentoring program, and tripling participation. In 2008 she began coaching leaders at the federal Eastern Management Development and serving as a senior career coach with the White Hawk Group to help managers from Marriott International and other organizations develop a professional brand as they search for new jobs. Linda earned an M.A. in 1990 in Counseling from the University of Maryland, completing her thesis in conjunction with the Center for Creative Leadership. During her studies, she managed two nationally known Career Resource Centers, at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and the General Accounting Office, and taught semester-long career development workshops at George Washington University. She has a private career coaching practice in Frederick, MD where she specializes in helping people who haven’t yet found a satisfying vocational niche.
