What is your definition of a true friend?

Friends come and go. Some leave on good terms and some leave on bad terms. What classifies a friend that will stick closer than a brother or sister?

Friend:one attached to another by affection or esteem.

True:steadfast,just,loyal and true

Once you put these two words together its: loyal true person attached to another by affection or esteem-TRUE FRIEND.first off the word "friend" is tossed around more than clothes in the dryer! you met someone and automatically thats your friend! A friend, that title has to be earned! to me a friend is someone who is non judging, they'll correct you when your wrong but love you for who you are!i think its so sad when a person has no friends no one they can tell there darkest secets or funniest stories too! eveyone needs at least one friend. my mom always told me if you die and have at least 3 good friends in your life you are blessed! well consider me blessed because i have 3 bffs ive known for 10yrs plus!!there my friends not because ive known them half my life but because they have proven themselves loyal,just,steadfast and true!some people say "well your firends will be the ones thatll cross you" well thats not a friend in the first place. just because you know someone or hang out with them doesnt make them your friend,let alone a true friend.To be a friend you have to make a friend, so if your judging those around you saying that their not true friends them look at yourself! are you all those things above? the things that define what a true friend is are you that(self reflection time)! love covers all flaws!! if you are a true friend to someone you love them. you dont down talk or become jealous u celebrate!!FRIENDSHIP TEST: if someone talked about you and "your friend" came back and told you, ask them what they say and if they said nothing that means they talked about you too!!
