Such a day...

It seems that every day presents wonderful opportunities for "choosing up", as Bonnie says.  Today was especially so for me... and when our show's conversation started out on the subject of sleep and renewal, I knew I was in the right place.  How can I rest when I'm called to the many challenging engagements of my life... challenges that seem to intensify with every passing day?

Our fluid conversation examined sleep as a recharging of the battery, an integration time, an access to the mystery and its other dimensions of knowing.  And it seemed that women's circles, too, provide ways to recharge and integrate and access the mystery, often leaving us with more energy than when the circle started.

Is this the call of the women's circle?  Accessing more of our natural selves, more easily, and with the support of others?  Is it a geometric configuration that flows energies into the body, are we "sourcing" the greater whole in some way, or are we simply resting our minds for awhile, letting our hearts lead the way?

Most women's circles pay attention to the qualities of the environment in which they are held.  For example, something beautiful or simply alive, a plant or flower, may be placed in the center of the circle, or on an altar.  Perhaps, this evokes in us something similar to a sunset, a possibility for atuning to something greater than ourselves, to nature.  Thus, we find ourselves accessing a more natural place within, easy to live in, easier to flow energies and be nourished by our natures, rather than using our energies to maintain societally required roles.
 
Paying attention to the energy requirements of our body-minds, when to sleep, what activities enliven us, seems to be part of the balance we are all seeking in this time of deep transition.  Perhaps all we need is love?!!
