Today host Laura Theodore, the Jazzy Vegetarian,  chats with popular musician and animal activist, Joy Askew. We’ll talk about compassionate vegan recipes and her new CD, “Walk the Dog!” Hailing from England, Joy Askew has played and sung with such luminary artists as Joe Jackson, Peter Gabriel, Laurie Anderson and Jack Bruce. She has appeared with David Bowie and David Byrne while promoting her own six CD releases. Joy has appeared in Laurie Andersons’ quintessential movie “Home Of The Brave” and she has performed for President Barack Obama. A keen activist on behalf of farm animals, Joy has performed at events for Farm Sanctuary, Woodstock Animal Farm Sanctuary, and Catskill Animal Sanctuary. Her music can be heard in the film “Peaceable Kingdom, The Journey Home.”  "Joy Askew's music takes you to a place you haven't been, which is the highwater mark of a true artist. Her songs can make you feel alive and ready to experience anything, and they always touch the heart from the very first notes. There are so many great singer-songwriters right now, but Joy Askew is one who should be heard by everyone immediately. She is someone you will never forget."--Bill Bentley
