Walter E. Butts, the 2009-2014 New Hampshire Poet Laureate, is the author of Radio Time (forthcoming from Cherry Grove), Sunday Evening at the Stardust Cafe`, which was chosen as a finalist for the Philip Levine Prize in Poetry and selected winner of the 2006 Iowa Source Poetry Book Prize, and several chapbooks, including What to Say if the Birds Ask (Pudding House, 2007) and Sunday Factory (Finishing Line Press, 2006). The recipient of two Pushcart Prize nominations and a Massachusetts Artists Foundation Award, his poems have appeared recently in Café Review, Cider Press Review, The Fourth River, Poetry East and Saranac Review, and the anthology The 2010 Poets’ Guide to New Hampshire. He teaches in the low-residency BFA in Creative Writing Program at Goddard College.
