What would you do if you tested positive for HIV? How would you feel? Who would you tell? How would you feel if you found out your best friend was HIV positive? Would you shun them or embrace them? Why??? All great questions and I think we should be asking them all. I wanted to create a show around this subject because I recently had to ask myself some of these same questions. I had an HIV test performed just a few weeks ago. I tested negative, but the entire emotional experience was so profound and life changing, I felt strongly that I needed to share it. This was certainly a personal experience, but I feel it's a lesson that everyone can learn from. I could literally feel the stigma and shame fall upon me had I tested positive. From promiscuity to unsafe sex; I had been there and done that. I have nothing to hide because, after all the dust settled, I believe I came out of this a changed person. Whether for better or worse is still to be determined, but maybe my story will spark the change in you that you've been looking for. How do YOU feel about this subject? I know this is a sensitive one, but I want to stir things up and get people talking about it. We need to talk about this...I think it'll save lives.
