As DNA evidence continues to exonerate many who have served time for crimes of murder and rape, those who have been unjustly jailed are seeking to put their shattered lives back together. Filing a lawsuit against the government is a long and costly process and yet how does one simply walk away from having years of ones life stolen? Millions have been pain in compensatory damages to those who were finally freed after so much time served behind bars. The State will owe so much more to the many jailed but innocent people that have yet to be exonerated. Johnnie Savory, arrested at age 14 and falsely accused of murder, spent 30 years in prison before being released. He discusses his next step, since outgoing Governor Pat Quinn officially issued a pardon, acknowledging he was wrongfully imprisoned.
