Mental illness still carries  certain stigma in many communities, and people tend to shun those who suffer from it. While some illnesses, such as Alzheimers and Dementia, are identified with the aging process, some diseases, such as paranoid schizophrenia, are often the factors in bizaar murder cases, in which a person has lost touch with reality and is a danger to society. Can such a person ever recover from mental illness and be trusted to reinter society? Is medication the only way to control mental illness? Is mental illness "curable"? How can we know for sure?
