Rappers Reviving Respect For Women

Brother Tate X, well known spoken word artist "Rsppin' Tate The Great" is continuing his campaign to stop vulgar, disrespectful messages in rap music that degrade women and present a despicable image ob black men to the world. He discusses his upcoming video and his national movement to restore the consciousness in the Spoken Word community and to encourage artists to express lyrics that are uplifting, informative and inspirational rather than degrading and degenerate. He examines the impact of negative lyrics that glorify violence on the minds of impressionable youth who don't have access to more positive role models and more promising opportunities for self advancement other than the degradation of "Gangster Rap" notoriety. He discusses how radio stations are guilty participants in the glorifying a destructive culture of depravity, and points out ways to combat the trend toward negative rap music.
