With the triple whammy of earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disasters, the spotlight is on Japan's Police. Tonight, LIVE from Orlando, FL, your host former police chief Dr. Richard Weinblatt, The Cop Doc, explores why rampant looting and panic has not taken place in the land of the rising sun. We'll examine the top down National Police Agency (N.P.A.) approach in Japan, decentralized record keeping, the community-based Koban system and other issues that impacted the disaster response. Criminological and societal factors also came into play and we'll look closely at those areas. Join The Cop Doc for a timely and powerful look at international policing Japanese style. The expert panel includes Dr. Maki Haberfeld, Chair of Police Science at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City who has worked with the Japanese Police on projects and has an indepth knowledge of law enforcement overseas. Also, Japanese native Dr. Aki Roberts, of the University of New Mexico, covers how the Japanese view their government and how crime is classified.
