Happy Samhain or Halloween. This weekend was the wiccan new year, it is also known as All Hallows Eve.

Kestrel, aka Stan, is a Animal Guide. He has had messages from nature from a very young age. Days filled with time in the fields and woods near his home in Pennsylvania has led him to believe all nature has messages for us. The wind, a running stream, trees ,even the earth itself all have something to give to us if we only take a moment to listen. Animals and birds seemed to migrate to Stan as he has passed through the cycle of life. He doesn't consider himself special in any way. He believes these messages are there for anyone to hear.

This week, Stan joined me on That Psychic Girl Talk Show. Stan and I talked about animal spirits and animal totems. I asked Stan what a totem animal is, and he told me that it is a guide. All of us are born with a totem animal but it may change through our journey in life and the situation we are currently experiencing. A totem animal will help and guide us throughout life. Another thing is that a Totem Animal is the same as a Spirit Animal, just different people call them different things. As you grow older they may to drift away and you may need to locate them later on in your life.

Stan suggested that one of the best ways to find you totem animal is to meditate and see what comes to you.

One thing I found interesting is that Angel and Animal Guides are very similar, they both help you get out of certain situations. Something else I asked is if we have both a Animal and Angel guide of if we only have either a Animal or Angel Guide. He said that we can have both but sometimes we are more receptive to one and less to the other.

I was lucky enough to have her as a guest on my Talk Show this week. Laura spoke a lot about energy and "grounding". This type of grounding isn't what you do to children when they behave inappropriately, it's what you do with energy. Grounding means taking energy from Mother Earth and when energy gets given to you, you give it to Mother Earth.

Laura shared an exercise she does with her children to practise grounding. You  pretend that you're a tree, your feet are the roots, they grow down to the core of the Earth  and any sickness or hurt will go down them and Mother Earth will take that energy, cleanse it and put it back into the world. Then you bring your roots up and into your solar plexus chakra then you hug your belly and you're then grounded.

Being a medium, Laura takes energy mainly from the Earth but some times she loses her "angle" and takes energy from any source available. Sometimes when she's talking on the phone to her friends, she'll have 2 or three fully charged phones ready and in a matter of hours they'll all be drained of battery.  This is why learning to ground is important.

Energy is conducted through everything, although crystals, candles and essential oils allow that energy to be conducted more easily. Crystals have different energies for example, a clear quartz is for cleaning, a rose quartz symbolises love, hematite absorbs negative energies etc. This is the same for candles and essential oils.
