There is a lot of buzz going on in the boxing community right now involving a potential monster showdown in the welterweight division between Keith “One Time” Thurman and Shawn “Showtime” Porter. Thurman and Porter represent the two most promising talents in the welterweight division to potentially take over for the recently retired Floyd Mayweather Jr.

ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael released a story several hours ago on the potential showdown for December 12th. Rafael’s report suggests that the fight will take place on ShowTime TV.

There were reports from other outlets that suggested the fight could be in Las Vegas, although they failed to realize that the UFC has a major PPV event scheduled on that date at the MGM Grand between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo, leaving that location virtually out of the question.

There have been talks for weeks that Keith Thurman will make his 2015 finale in Texas, presumably San Antonio. Now, it seems like the potential Thurman-Porter fight could land in San Antonio although the venue is probably still under consideration. The fight could end up at the AT&T Center, home of the San Antonio Spurs.
