On November 22nd, Kanye West released My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, the most hyped album in recent hip hop history. Pitcfork gave the album a perfect score, as did Rolling Stone and a slew of other top musical guides of note. I agree with them in that the album now recasts hip hop on a larger sonic scale, as the genre has a heightened social awareness to larger issues outside of the hip hop and urban communities.
