Leah Cohen, Leah Cohen, LCSW, ACSW, CCM, NG, TXG with arrangeCARE discusses what a Geriatric Care Management Company is, reasons to hire a Geriatric Care Manager, the cost associated with their services, and the benefits to families as well as long distance caregivers. A professional geriatric care manager has been educated in various fields of human services — social work, psychology, nursing, gerontology — and trained to assess, plan, coordinate, monitor and provide services for the elderly and their families. Advocacy for older adults is a primary function of the care manager.

Leah has been a licensed social worker for over 35 years and was awarded the Social Worker of the Year Award in 2016. She currently has a private care management company, arrangeCARE pc, focusing on older adults and people with disabilities over the life span. arrangeCARE partners with individuals, families, and professionals to maximize choices in care of people with disabilities or older adults. The expertise they bring is client centered. Services are paid privately or may be covered by long-term care insurance. They are not covered by Medicare or Medicaid.
