Speaking of ACORN, the New York Times and Barack Obama …

$0$0Just yesterday we discussed what happens when a former community organizer and U.S. Senator (D-Alinsky) like Barack Hussein Obama ascends to the highest office in our nation. Now we learn, and when I use the word “learn” in mean the sense “to confirm that which you already knew,” in that we knew that the Liberal Death Star the journalistically bankrupt and soon-to-be financially bankrupt New York Times, had the back of the ACORN alum through out the two years of his presidential campaign. They made no attempt to conceal what Bernie Goldberg has so accurately called a slobbering love affair with the man-god. I realize that they couldn’t help but be captivated by this character. Sure, to you and me he was just a smooth-talking (albeit TelePrompTer dependent) big-eared doofus in a very expensive and empty suit who never had an original thought in his life, preferring to parrot the radical slogans and policies he eagerly soaked up in the indoctrination centers Columbia and Harvard. Members of the 5th column dinomedia saw something else, something utterly enchanting; specifically, a mixed-race son of a white woman “from Kansas” (who actually grew up on the Left Coast) and an African father, raised by a single mother (is there any more celebrated group in the liberal pantheon? Abortion fans, perhaps …), an internationalist who had lived abroad and had a Muslim stepfather, with the middle name “Hussein,” an “eloquent” product of the Ivy League, a “constitutional law professor” (actually a lecturer, but what’s a little resume inflation for a liberal?), and a former “community organizer” (that is one who swoops in to whip up a sense of entitlement, victimhood and anger in poor people and leaves them, at best, no better off then when he moves on to pursue his political career) who passed every liberal litmus test with more than flying colors. “Pro-choice?” You betcha, and then some. His “nuanced” views of the Second Amendment, Affirmative Action, and the need for the federal government to confiscate the fruits of one person’s labor and give it to others in the interest of “fairness?” Check, check, check. He even got the script correct, mouthing the obligatory yip-yap about “economic justice.” I hope you are starting to see that for white limousine liberals there could never be a more beguiling creature, not even if they were able to create one from their politically-correct fantasies and bring him to life. He was completely irresistible. He had them at “hello,” and there is nothing they wouldn’t do to make their wet dreams come true. $0$0$0$0So, I’m sure that you won’t be at all surprised to learn that the New York Times killed this story about the Obama campaign and ACORN because it was a “game changer.” $0$0$0$0$0Heather Heidelbaugh, who represented the Pennsylvania Republican State Committee in the lawsuit against the group, recounted for the ommittee what she had been told by a former ACORN worker who had worked in the group’s Washington, D.C. office. The former worker, Anita Moncrief, told Ms. Heidelbaugh last October, during the state committee’s litigation against ACORN, she had been a “confidential informant for several months to The New York Times reporter, Stephanie Strom.” Ms. Moncrief had been providing Ms. Strom with information about ACORN’s election activities. Ms. Strom had written several stories based on information Ms. Moncrief had given her.During her testimony, Ms. Heidelbaugh said Ms. Moncrief had told her The New York Times articles stopped when she revealed that the Obama presidential campaign had sent its maxed-out donor list to ACORN’s Washington, D.C. office. Ms. Moncrief told Ms. Heidelbaugh the campaign had asked her and her boss to “reach out to the maxed-out donors and solicit donations from them for Get Out the Vote efforts to be run by ACORN.” Ms. Heidelbaugh then told the congressional panel: “Upon learning this information and receiving the list of donors from the Obama campaign, Ms. Strom reported to Ms. Moncrief that her editors at The New York Times wanted her to kill the story because, and I quote, “it was a game changer.”’$0$0$0$0$0I guess they were too busy writing scurrilous stories about Sen. John McCain, hinting about a non-existent affair with a lobbyist. $0$0Isn’t it time for this worthless rag to just shut down once and for all? C’mon, Pinch, why drag out the inevitable?$0
