Writing Exercises 1. Write 5 things you love about yourself. Add to this list on a regular basis. This is an on-going assignment. 2. Write several words, no more than 10 at a time that come to mind when you think of love in your life. This will help you gauge where you are in your mind when it comes to love. If you are coming up with words like 'pain, heartbreak, hurt...' then you know you need to do some serious inner work to un-learn all of that fear-based thinking and learn love-based thinking. 3. Write 5 things you're grateful for. This is an on-going assignment as well. Add to this list all the time. 4. Write 3 things you regret, then look them over, forgive them and forgive yourself. Then, send love to each thing on the list and send love to yourself through meditation or visualization. After that throw them away in a trash can or dumpster outside of your home. 5. (Mentioned at the top of the show...check out the archives!) Write 2-3 pages on something that's been bothering you a lot. Purge it on the pages. Then, throw it away in a trash can or dumpster outside of your home as a symbolic gesture to the Universe that you are willing to let go and move forward.
Ways to Show Yourself Love 1. Hug yourself. 2. Look in the mirror and smile at yourself. 3. Do something nice for yourself. Doesn't always have to cost money. Be creative here. 4. Learn something new you've always wanted to learn. 5. Quiet time - 5 to 20 minutes per day. 6. Learn how to say 'no'. Do not push yourself to hard when helping others. Say 'yes' to yourself for a change.
Inward Smile Meditation Just sit down or lie down (do not go to sleep) and smile physically. Then, allow the feeling and joy of that smile to vibrate throughout your entire body from head to toe. Feel that smile flowing through you. This is very healing and a wonderful way to show yourself love. This meditation comes from the book - Shamanic Experience by Kenneth Meadows.
