Author Keshawn Durant, a college and semi-pro football player, takes a close look at pro football's dirty little secret: depression. When an injury ended his career early, Durant experienced firsthand an athlete's descent into depression. It became the biggest opponent of his life. His book, Escalating Success, provides an intimate account of the life of an elite athlete both before and after injury and depression and includes insight from top clinical and sports psychologist Tom Ferraro and licensed therapist Tom Kearns.

His brother, Darian Durant, plays for the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders, and his brother, Justin Durant, plays for the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars as well as his family helped him get through a rough time like this.
