His services include assisting organizations in their formation and seeking recognition of tax-exempt status. He advises on matters such as public charity status, the lobbying and political campaign activities rules, the private inurement and private benefit doctrines, intermediate sanctions, the unrelated business rules, the annual reporting and disclosure rules, fundraising regulation, use of subsidiaries and involvement in joint ventures. He works extensively in connection with Internal Revenue Service disputes, including examinations and compliance check inquiries.
