The Woodlands Talk

The Woodlands and surrounding communities now have a radio show. It is a way for residents to connect with one another. It is a way for us to feature some of the leaders of the community and give them a venue for sharing their message. We want the show to be valuable and intelligent - informative and entertaining. This weekly show airs each Thursday at noon. If you, or someone you know, have information that would be valuable in this community forum - please contact Kathi Frank so we can talk.

Show Notes

Kathi Frank, host of The Woodlands Talk, is a real estate agent. But there is nothing typical about the way she approaches serving her clients. As a life coach and author, her goal is to serve home owners, and those purchasing homes, with incredible honesty and focus on their individual needs. She has a history of supporting the community and now supports Montgomery County, TX residents by creating this broadcast. Get a FREE market report each month, by postcard or email. Hello The Woodlands - Explore the Spring Creek Greenway

What a fabulous show we had today about the continuing expansion of Houston's newest Nature Center - the Spring Creek Greenway!  With 12,000 acres in both Harris and Montgomery county being set aside as a nature preserve, it makes this one of the largest parks in such a large metro area.

We talked about so many things that are exciting.  For example, many small parks are being joined together which will eventually give visitors and residents the opportunity to enjoy a 33 mile continuous park space along the banks of Spring Creek.  There are educational and volunteer opportunities in whatever special focus that appeals to you.

For more information - first, listen to this show - then head to the website: www.SpringCreekGreenway.com  or call Commissioner Ed Chance's office at (281) 367-3977.

Spring Creek Greenway - Houston's newest eco-tourist attraction

The Spring Creek Greenway will connect and protect up to 12,000 acres of forest on both sides of the Creek because of the joint effort of Harris & Montgomery County. These words are on the website describing this new ecological gem. "The forests along Spring Creek look nearly the same as they looked over 200 years ago when Akokisa Indians roamed the land, hunting and gathering their food as they traveled this gorgeous spring-fed waterway." The newest village of The Woodlands borders on this project and new home buyers love the natural feel of this community. Preserving our urban forests improves every aspect of Houstonians quality of life. The Spring Creek watershed currently contains tens of thousands of acres of bottomland hardwood forest, providing home to wildlife, creating recreation opportunities, reducing flooding, and improving air quality. Wow, forests do all of that?! We better hold onto them!
