Over the course of her 24-year career, Cheryl Duncan has developed and implemented publicity campaigns and projects featuring some of the biggest names in entertainment, as well as major artistic events, books, films, and social betterment groups. (The following is only a representative list; see also Clients.) Known as "eclectic" by her peers, her firm's diverse client roster has ranged from the New York African Film Festival (Lincoln Center), Jazzmobile, and former Ziegfeld Girl Doris Eaton Travis, to Surgeons of Hope medical mission to Cambodia, SEJONG string ensemble’s 2007 benefit concert honoring U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, and “Answering the Call: Ground Zero's Volunteers,” a documentary about those who, like Cheryl herself, volunteered after the 9/11 tragedies. Committed to helping address community concerns, Cheryl was lead consultant for the Congressional Black Caucus's "State of the African American Male Conference” and runs an ongoing campaign to promote foster parenting for the New York City Administration for Children’s Services. Additionally, she has done pro bono work for World Literacy Crusade, The Stay Strong Foundation, and The New York Rescue Workers’ Detoxification Project.. Cheryl is also a sought-after consultant to other PR firms. Among her many achievements in this role, she was integral to the successful campaign to get Miles Davis inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, represented multi-platinum recording artist Ludacris and It's Showtime at the Apollo, and handled the funerals of beloved icons Ossie Davis and Max Roach for The Terrie Williams Agency. She also publicized Essence magazine and the Essence Music Festival for Bragman Nyman Cafarelli, and the Radio One "Black America Study" for Dan Klores Communications. A public speaker, as well as PR counselor and event producer.
