Teapot Party

It never ceases to amaze me that marijuana is still illegal in this day in age. Hell, I'm equally as surprised psilocybin mushrooms are as well. Who do these people that create and enforce laws which prohibit things that occur in nature think they are? Enough of this 'thought police' bullshit.

What gives them the power to regulate another human being's right to explore their own consciousness as they see fit, or to medicate with something natural, rather than something created in a lab by a drug company?

Last April 20, our national holiday, the Associated Press found that 56 percent of Americans want marijuana treated the same as alcohol under the law. I number I personally believe to be much higher.

Former US Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders said in October that she supports the legalization of marijuana, citing the high number of people imprisoned in the US for non-violent crimes.

"I think we consume far more dangerous drugs that are legal: cigarette smoking, nicotine and alcohol," Elders said. 'I feel they cause much more devastating effects physically. We need to lift the prohibition on marijuana.'

Data from the FBI's "Crime in the United States" report shows that in 2008 there was an average of one drug arrest every 18 seconds.

It's a plant..........an illegal plant. An illegal plant that has an extraordinarily high number of medicinal uses. An illegal plant in the "land of the free". The hypocrisy is almost maddening. Especially when you consider the very harmful health and social impact alcohol has upon individuals and society, which is completely legal.

Please get involved in ending this injustice, hypocrisy, and lunacy.
