Information overload is a potential problem for learners. We have available to us amazing information on every side. How do we process what we take in? Mind Maps. At least for us visual learners and others who want to really understand the connections between what they are getting. Mind mapping can helps us include our right brain in the information processing. The influence of the right brain helps to make stronger connections. Information begins to fit in a framework that makes sense. There are many software tools to support mind mapping using the computer. Paper and pencil is where I would start because the process pushes you to the right brain quickly. Computer programs can be useful for collaboration or for helping formalize your thinking. Desktop applications mention in the show are Free Mind, Mind Jet, Personal Brain, Compendium and cMap Tools and XMind Web Based tools mentioned are Spinscape, Creately, Mind42, MyWebspiration, Gliffy, LucidChart, SpicyNodes, CoMapping and Cacoo For assistance in choosing the right mind mapping tool for your project (personal or collaborative) connect with me at teachjim.com I'd be happy to help.
